Chalet-hôtel Blythe

We were approached by our clients years before this project actually commenced. They were looking for land upon which to build a new ski property and wanted us to be involved from the outset. A year later they secured the land via local high quality chalet constructeur Grosset Janin. We suggested the architect for the project, and then we all started work!

The brief was a luxury 8 bedroom property with world-class alpine facilities. The location is in the middle of the ski resort of Les Gets, and as usual Hervé the architect came up with an amazing design that maximised the views, gave us the footprint required for the various chalethôtel facilities, and created a ski lodge that is more akin to a home-from-home than an impersonal hotel. Our remit was that of interior architects and interior designers for the project, but Grosset-Janin trusted us to pick some of the core trades for the project build – companies with whom we have previously collaborated and know well, and who understand us and what we expect in terms of design detailing and high quality workmanship.

Over 4 years, we worked on all details of the chalet-hôtel design, and navigated the additional rules and regulations required in a hotel construction. These included all guest room designs, consumer electrical and lighting designs, the swimming pool, fitness and wellness designs, and all internal and external finishes. We designed and commissioned bespoke features throughout.

Our clients were exceptional. They gave us a design brief and then trusted us to interpret it and implement our vision for the property. In addition to the chalet construction we worked closely with our international furniture suppliers to create a sophisticated contemporary interior for the chalet-hôtel, including collaborations for various bespoke furnishings. The completed chalethôtel is a stunning property that provides its clients with unrivalled facilities in a welcoming, luxury atmosphere.
